Mr. Kent Gorham, CMLRD
June 2, 1992 -page 3
If) Site GF-5: Trapper will immediately return to a List D requirement as per our approved monitor-
ing plan. The intent of this well was to monitor the extent and quality of the reestablished water
table in backfdled spoils (p-247). Approved TR-48 (7/31/90) replaced list D with list C on page 4-
247a for this site. Approved TR-54 also reduced this site to be biannual sampling requirement
because of data consistency.
lg) Site J-1: All TDS samples were taken but two were not reported in the data tabulation. The com-
pletedata set is 1512 (3/26), 1802 (6/28), 1998 (9/11) and 2336 (11/21).
lh) Site P-1: All TDS samples were taken but one wasn't reported. The complete data set is 1796
(3/28), 1860 (6/28), 2024 (9/13) and 1804 (12/5).
C. Water Quality Analysis
la) Site P-8: Trapper shall submit a minor revision (MR) reestablishing well P-8 in 1992. Efforts to
restore the well's integrity is ongoing. Anew borehole and casing will be installed if the original well
cannot be salvaged. This MR shall be submitted prior to June 30th.
2a) No-Name TSS exceedance: Trapper stands by the reasoning for the exceedance as submitted to the
CDH-WQCD. Side slope meltout on western facing slopes at the spillway caused the higher sedi-
mentload. As an appropriate mitigative measure, these side slopes were seeded and appropriately
fenced to exclude livestock access in an attempt to modify the field conditions to assure future rep-
resentative sampling. Trapper understands the difficulty the Division had with this explanation but
hopes that a site visit in the winter of 1992-1993 confirming snow melt situations and discussions on
the last inspection (5128) will resolve [his issue.
D. Summary and Discussion of the Hydrologic Impacts
Attached are Hydro-Engineering's comments, addressing the Divisions' concerns, as faxed to Trapper
on 6/1/92.
Trapper is submitting under separate cover all the pages affected by these data corrections/additions for the
AHR (Hydro-Engineering to provide). Additionally, Trapper will submit all correct permit pages and tables
identified by the Division's review with PR3 in late June if acceptable.
If there are any additional questions or commenu, please contact William Harding or me.
Sincere
iG2
William Agnew
Mgr. Environmental Quality
WSH/WAl1b
[CML.E2D\]UNEO2]
Enclosure
rile
