<br />Battle Mountain Gold <br />NOPV Abatement Requirements & Status <br />page 6 <br />Status: BMG Submitted a written commitment to comply in a letter of <br />April 16, 1992. BMG committed to the completion of the <br />requested investigations, the submittal of a comprehe live <br />report, and the submission of appropriate permit modi ications, <br />if necessitated. The Division originally specified s bmittal <br />within 90 days following detoxification, however, BMGhas <br />demonstrated that 180 days will be required to compleile the <br />requested evaluation. <br />(9) Modification of Environmental Monitoring Plan: <br />BMG shall modify its environmental monitoring plan to include irect <br />monitoring of the cyanide and metals content of the tailings slurry and <br />liquids. Within 15 days following the cyanide detoxification f the <br />tailings area contents, described in item (4), BMG shall submi sampling <br />methodology, sampling locations and sampling protocol for tailings <br />cyanide and metals content monitoring to the Division for revi w and <br />approval. <br />Further, BMG shall appropriately modify its entire environment 1 <br />monitoring plan, including ground and surface water, air, and rocessing <br />circuit monitoring, to reflect all modifications completed in c mpliance <br />with these NOV abatement requirements. These modifications shall be <br />submitted in connection with the various permit revision applic tions. <br />Status: BMG submitted a written commitment to comply in a letter of <br />April 16, 1992. BMG committed t the submittal of a revised <br />monitoring program. <br />May & June - Submittals BMG made in response to Abatement <br />Progress: Requirements #4, tl6 & #12, also address this <br />Abatement Requirement. <br />(10) Adjustment of Financial Assurance: <br />As required by statute and regulation, any permit amendment or evision <br />approval will entail reevaluation of the cost of the entailed r clamation <br />components. BMG will be required to appropriately adjust its s rety to <br />reflect any change in reclamation cost. Any permit amendment o <br />technical revision application submitted by BMG shall include a <br />appropriate evaluation of the implications of the requested pla <br />modifications for the reclamation cost. <br />Status: BMG submitted a written commitment to comply in a lettRr of <br />April 16, 1992. <br />(11) "Critical Path" Project Management Schedule: <br />Common methodology and practices may serve more than one abatement plan <br />task.
