This area has been identified <br />as important mule deer habitat. <br />Exhibit D: The overburden and pit sides are to be graded to a 3:1 slope ratio, observation of the present <br />site revealed that the existing slopes were much steeper. A 3:1 slope ratio would prevent erosion and <br />flooding of the pit and allow vegetation to be re-established. <br />Exhibk E Figure3, the Mining Plan Map shows the expansion to encroach into the canyon, this should be <br />avoided if possible, as any mining activity in this area would be detrimental to the riparian area. If <br />possible, avoidance of this area would minimize impacts and disturbance to wildlife and the riparian <br />area.
