The lined drainage ditch was constructed at the hillside -pond <br />interface to carry upland runoff azound the pond and to provide surface drainage from the <br />pond surface when final grade was established to contain this volume. Surface drainage <br />from the capped pond azea was planned to drain into the diversion ditch along its entire <br />length. This maximum volume estimate was approximately 80,000 cubic yards higher <br />than actual requirements and SGC did not have borrow material to wver this shortage <br />without creating major disturbances that would require additional permitting and <br />reclamation. Therefore using the available material, the grading plan was modified <br />without changing the reclamation concept which entails draining the pond surface to the <br />hillside -pond diversion ditch. <br />
