CHARACTERISITCS COMPARISON
Dear Roy Koper.
Pursuant to our recent phone conversation concerning the above referenced subject, we
are seeking your expertise for a soil characte[istic comparison at the above referenced site. The
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) requires the soil comparison per a
stipulation, Stipulation #4 (copy enclosed) within our approved permit document. The stipulation
requires a comparison of soil from the reclaimed area to that of art adjacent, undisturbed area to
verify that soils have been re-established sufficiently to render the area as flood irrigable (see
Stipulation #4).
The site, Loadout Expansion Area, is located about one mile west of Florence one the
west side of County Rd 79; the west boundary of the site borders Oak Creek.
For ease of review I have enclosed the following:
Area map and site map;
Stipulation #4;
Section 4: Alluvial Valley Floor Determination and Conclusions;
Alluvial Valley Floors -Rules 2.06.8 and 4.24 (CDMG).
After you have had a chance to review the information, I would appreciate an approximate
estimate of cost and availability for the study. The CDMG has suggested that a one paragraph
letter of the comparison would suffice.
I can be reached at: Phone 784- 6395 or Fax 784-4352 Thank you for your
consideration.
Sincerely,
~orge V.
