A revision of this
cross-section would not show the additional 4,000 CY cut for the road upgrade. The
volume was computer generated utilizing CAD earthwork sofhvarc and could not be
replicated using other methods, even with several cross-sections. In addition, MCC has
stated in the application that all material cut (4,000 CY) will be backfilled upon final
reclamation. MCC believes that this is a conservative estimate and requests that the
bond liability be calculated for backfilling 4,000 CY of material on this section of the
upgraded road.
In regards to the slope stabilization questions from Jim Pendleton, MCC will install stability
survey monuments above the proposed cut slope before excavation commences. MCC will
also begin site line stability monitoring following excavation. As committed in Permit
Revision No. 7 and as provided in the weekly geotechnical reports, MCC will report, design,
permit, and install appropriate slope treatments in a timely fashion.
Please call if you have any questions.
Kathy Welt
mrzz4a.ao~
cc: Eric Mende
Chris Nvikos
Phil Schmidt
