Eong <br /> Division Director <br />Denver CO 80202-3450 <br />Re: Golden Wonder Mine, Permit No M-78-091 UG~Request for Extension of the Board- <br />ordered Corrective Action Date, NOV No. M-97-013. <br />Dear Mr. Bassett, <br />This letter is in response to your written request to Michael Long, Director of the Division of Minerals <br />and Geology, dated June 26, 1997, asking that the above-captioned date be extended to allow your <br />client, Golden Wonder Mining, sufficient time to comply with a Board Order. This letter also acts as <br />a follow up to our telephone conversation on June 30, 1997, during which we discussed your <br />request. <br />As we had discussed, there were two issues involved here, one being the fact that neither Mr. Long <br />nor anyone else in the Division may change a Board Order; the second being that the permittee, LKA <br />International, has expressly stated that your client is not authorized to represent him regarding this <br />permit. As you know, LKA has designated another party, Au Mining, to represent him and act as the <br />onsite coordinator. <br />It is for the second reason stated above that the Division has not scheduled the matter of Golden <br />Wonder Mining's request for this extension for the July 23, 1997 Board Meeting.
