I have assigned Tim Chervick as my designated
inspector.
I am a professional engineer registered in the State of Colorado
and my experience fulfills the requirements of the Colorado Surface
Coal Mining Reclamation Act.
The purpose of this inspection and certification was to ensure
proper construction of all Sediment Control Ponds and to satisfy
the requirements of Rule 4.05.6 (11) (a) of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board. In completing this certification, an inspection
was conducted of all Sediment Control Ponds and construction site.
The inspection showed no problems at the DP-1 Sediment Pond
concerning cracking, erosion, rodent activity, or displacements in
the following areas; upstream face, downstream face, and the crest.
No seepage was located on any of the dam areas. The outlet conduit
was in good shape and no leakage was noted. The emergency spillway
showed no signs of deterioration or erosion and the riprap was in
good condition. No effluent quality could be noted at inspection
time, since the pond was not discharging at the outlet.
Deserado Mine
P.O.
