Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 1 l8, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 10, 1997, an application to renew an existing <br />permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Red Canyon Mines was considered complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation opetations on land located <br />approximately 5 miles northwest of Cedatedge, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 11, 12, 13, and 14, T13S, R9~W, 6th PM, all in Delta County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cedaredge. <br />This application is for successive renewal of permit C-81-034 for the Red Canyon Mine. The operation is an <br />inactive, reclaimed underground coal mine. No changes to the current permit are proposed in the renewal <br />application. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, <br />Delta, CO 8(416, and at the Division office.
