Mr. Thomas A. Schreiner
Project No. LOVREA-6D4B-52-108-AI
February 23, 2007
After construction of the drainage ditches, Pit #8 will have top soil placed on the exposed bedrock
bottom. This top soil will then be seeded to form a grass meadow. The same general reclamation
plan shall be adhered to as proposed for the reclamation of the Larimer Pit. The main proposed
difference is to provide a grass meadow area in lieu of the lakes. A modified Exhibit E -Reclamation
Plan is attached for your review. The post mining use is not intended to change. The grass meadow
will be reclaimed similar to that proposed for the upland areas in other areas of reclamation of the
Larimer Pit. The sides slopes of the pit will not exceed the 3:1 outlined in Exhibit E. The final
reclamation should provide a grass meadow of approximately 13 acres in size.
It is anticipated that the original cost of topsoil application, final grading/contouring, and grass seeding
will increase. The expected difference in cost is anticipated to be $18,380.00. This is shown in the
attached revised Exhibit L. The revisions and additions to the Exhibit L have been shown in bold type
for easier reading.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me at my office.
