The
Division agrees with Trapper's conclusion that the slide area appears
to have been stable throughout the past year. The two ppiezometers
showed minor water level fluctuations, reflecting £he annual
precipitation cycle. In addition, the piezometer lower on the slope
shows a consistently higher water table. The flow from the french
drain installed within the regraded slide deposit showed relatively
consistent flows, usually less than 0.5 gpm. No problems were detected
with either diversion ditch. Finally, none of the slope stability
markers showed any detectable movement.
Therefore, the Division grants Trapper's request to discontinue the
slide monitoring program. Stipulation No. 14, which was attached to
TR-69 and which required the monitoring program and final report, has
been complied with.
However{ the Division requests that Trapper retain the two
piezome ers, the slope stability markers, and the french drain outfall
monitoring point. In this way, Trapper can restart the slide
remediation monitoring program should there be any suspicion of
further movement of the slide. Also, the Division requests that the
two diversion ditches, one above the slide area and the other across
the slide area, be retained. If Trapper agrees with these requests,
please send the Division a letter stating so.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
os h ~ Dudash
nvironmental Protection Specialist
C:\WP51\TRAPPER\TR69RPT
