Attached is
the Technical Revision Fomt, proposed newspaper notice, and revised material of the Permit
Document for your approval. Revised materials include the following:
• Pond information on Figures EX 15-14, EX 15-9b, EX 15-11, EX 15-1 la, and
EX15-15 and Sedcad runs for Ponds 007a, 009, and 009a to be placed in Exhibit
I5.
• Stability analysis infomtation for all ponds to be located on the
site(CTL/Thompson Reports - Apri127 and July 27, 2001)
• Jeff Canyon Haul Road plan and profile (Map 2.05.3-3b).
• Light use road locations for accessing sediment ponds.
• Reclamation bond calculations for reclaiming the three ponds and the haul road
Itt response to Stipulation 6, LCC has redesigned Sedimentation Ponds No. 001 and 007. Pond No.
001 has been replaced by ponds OOIa and 004a, and pond 007 has bee replaced by ponds 007a artd
009x. These revised ponds have nominally 10-ft embankments and will not require State Engineer or
MSHA review. The attached analyses fro CTL/Thompson confirm that the proposed embankments
will be stable.
In addition, this Technical Revision includes modifications in the existing Jeff Canyon road to
accommodate coal haul traffic (new MAP 2.05.3-3b). This change will allow LCC to utilize the
existing road rather than construct the new haul road originally proposed in the permit application.
5231 South Quebec Street • Greenwood Village, Colorado 8011 I
Phone (303) 850-0930 • Fax (303) 721-9298
Web Site: www.greystone-consultanU.com • E-mail: greystone@greyswne-conspltants.com
