The inspection
dealt primarily with the sediment control structures and
drainage areas in the Elk Creek, Bear Creek, and Hubbard
Creek areas. Although no violations were given,
recommendations were made by the state with regard to the
hydrologic control of the facilities areas.
As a precautionary measure, an inspection was made by Pete
Palacios, Bill Pecharich and Jay Smaldone to ensure all
recommendations were completed. The following is a list of
responses to these recommendations.
Bear Creek Facilities Area
Item 2 - The berm west of the fan 'has been reestablished and
will be maintained.
Item 5 - The slide area west of the degas and shed area will
be repaired to prevent any further damage to the shed.
Item 6 - The Bear Creek culvert located 200' south of the
degas well and shed will be stabilized. Future access to
the degas well is required for hydrologic monitoring.
Elk Creek Facilities Area
Item 1 and 2 - All silt fences have been cleaned out and
either repaired or replaced. All hydraulic fluid in the
area has been cleaned up.
Item 4 - Principal spillway pipe stand has been repaired.
Item 5 - The access road has been maintained and
stabilized. A berm has been placed along the outside of the
road to ensure proper drainage. Any cut in the berm is made
intentionally to allow road drainage onto a vegetated side
slipe.
