<br />Bowie Resources Limited., P.O. Box 483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has submitted an
<br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its Bowie
<br />No. 2 Mine, mining permit No. C-96-083. The proposed revision provides for a revision
<br />to the mine plan to provide for the development of underground ventilation and access
<br />entries which are generally north of the Operator's fee coal. The entries (tunnels) will be
<br />developed through Federal right-of-way COC-62688. The proposed revision includes an
<br />incidental permit boundary change to encompass the right-of-way tunnels. This revision
<br />will not change the room and pillar mining method nor will it increase the 2.0 million tons
<br />per year permitted production.
<br />All of the mine facilities except a pump station are located immediately north of old State
<br />Highway 133 near the town of Bowie, CO. The Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the
<br />mine facilities. The railroad and the North Fork of the Gunnison River are also located
<br />south of the mine facilities. The mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey
<br />7.5 minute Bowie Quadrangle map within the following sections.

<br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine permit area contains 2406 acres of land, an increase of 79 acres.
<br />Of this total, 2039 acres are private and 367 acres are Federal which is an increase of 40
<br />and 39 acres respectively.
