MANAGEMENT
The DMG's preliminary adequacy review letter dated May 16, 2006 requested additional information. On
behalf of CAM MINING LLC, the following amended data are provided. New data is included as an add on to
the application for Technical Revision-15. The new data is part of the adequacy review comments for AHR
2005 and are specific to the effects of mine discharge on East Salt Creek surface and alluvium waters.
7) DMG -Figure 2.1-1 Mine Plan and Sequence Map was properly updated and amended to correspond
to permit text regarding the need for permit revision prior to future mining within or to the west of the
graben. Figure 2.2-1 Affected and Disturbed Areas was properly amended to delineate proposed and
current affected areas. Text on pages 2-59 and 2-60 was amended to correspond to amended tables and
text in other sections of the application. There is still one remaining discrepancy; the map scale on
amended Figure 2.2-1 is still listed as 1" = 1000'. Please revise Figure 2.2-1 to list the correct map
scale.
CAM -Revised Figure 2.2-1 to list the correct map scale
9) DMG -Text and map figures and supplemental documentation was provided as requested to delineate
the powerlines within the permit area and to clarify the powerlines within the permit area and to clarify the
powedine sections that will be removed upon reclamation of the mine. The Division had requested
Documentation that powerlines were constructed in compliance with rule 4.18, to minimize electrocution
hazards to raptors. Correspondence from Grand Valley Power indicated that "most of the line was
constructed to these standards' but that a review of the installations would be conducted and any
necessary modifications would be made. Please provide documentation that any necessary
modifications have been made. Also, please amend the Protection and Control section of the
Wildlife Plan, on page 4-31, to specify the transmission facility design specifications implement to
comply with 4.18(4).
CAM -Amended page 4-31 to incorporate the fact that power lines were constructed in compliance with
Rule 4.18(4). Steve Don, Manager of Engineering with Grand Valley Power, confirmed that all poles have
been raptor protected. A letter should be forthcoming. Operator will submit letter from Steve Don in the
near future.
12) DMG -The version of 2.2-2, Surface Facilities that we received was not amended to delete Culvert
"F"and and to include Culver "P" as requested and as indicated in the response cover letter. Please
provide an amended version of the figure with the requested updates.
CAM -See attached copy of Figure 2.2-2.
