For these reasons, an amended application has been developed for the Mid-Westem Farms site.
This amended application addresses all these concerns and provides a mining and reclamation plan
that is better sited to the site, the equipment and the land uses of the surrounding area.
Tuttle Applegate, Inc. developed the initial application in 1993 and much of the baseline informa-
tion on environmental resources is valid and has been used in the permit amendment. The enclosed
amendment is a stand-alone document and a complete permit application utilizing considerable
information from the earlier permit.
In late December of 1998, a revision was made to the amendment which included reclamation
plans for the site as it exists at the end of 1998. Therefore the reclamation plan (Exhibit E) and
bonding costs (Exhibit L) consist of two scenarios, one for continuation of mining for the entire
property and the other for reclamation as the site exists at the end of 1998. Both options contain
reclamation plan discussions, a reclamation plan map and separate bonding costs.
Mid-Westem Farms Resources Pit Amendment 3/98 2
