Susan Mowry
-2-
June 8, 1987
As a result, the Division requires that time of sampling for monitoring
sites be determined from representative hydrographs recorded for the N.
Fork, Sylvester Gulch, and the Minnesota Creek tributaries. Sampling
should occur as near as possible to the start of the rising limb, the
crest, and the bottom of the falling limb of each representative
hydrograph recorded from the continuous recording stream gauging
stations. Representative hydrographs used in determine sample dates
should be included in future annual hydrology reports (AHR's) with the 3
sampling dates identified on each hydrograph.
Future AHR's should contain a brief assessment of current coal production
levels (higher, lower, same as last year's) artd detailed assessment of
where the possible mining related impacts will be during the coming year.
The detailed assessment should also contain a statement of whether the
current water monitoring plan is adequate to cover these anticipated
impacts or whether a change in the monitoring plan is needed.
The applicant should be made fully aware that they are to continue all
required hydrologic monitoring required by the U.S.F.S. and by the State
Engineers Office to produce a data set sufficient for the Minnesota Creek
Augmentation Plan.
/tmm
0293E
