This letter is to formally place our <br />objection to the approval of this expansion. <br />We have quietly and amicably endured the massive construction and truck <br />activity that has taken place for the past many years (often late into the <br />evening and on weekends). We have been reluctant to speak out because the <br />owner and the quarry crew are very nice people and work very hard to remove <br />the rock. Aowever, the thought of an expansion of activity is very <br />disconcerting. The following are our concerns and comments. <br />1. The constructioe noise is tolerable for a period of time but gets tiring <br />after a while. Note that the work activity is less than 200 yards from oai~ <br />house. ~ _ ~ <br />2. The over burden from the mining activity is a real potential for disaster. <br />There is virtually no way to reclaim the property with the overburden <br />pushed over the bank. The overburden is allowed to free flow from the <br />top of the 6i11 to the creek at the bottom. The owner placed a retaining <br />wall adjacent to the creek. Aowever, no attempt has been made to <br />stabilize the slope to prevent a slide that would surely over run the creek <br />and result in a monumental environmental disaster. The overburden <br />
