Battle Mountain Gold
During their April 23, 1992 meeting, the Mined Land Reclamation Boarld uphled
the facts of the violation and imposed the recommended abatement requirements
with the following amendments.
(4> Tailings Cyanide Detoxification:
* The Division shall report tailings treatment progress to iihe Board
during their May 27-2B and June 24-25, 1992 meetings.
* Tailings CYTOX detoxification, approved under Technical ReJvision No.
TR-004, shall cease no later than June 24, 1992.
(12) Modification of Monitor Sampling & Analysis Protocol:
* The protocol shall include the sampling of the three lysi eter sets
(L-1, L-2 & L-3) instal]ed in response to Water Court req irements.
* The protocol shall specify monthly reporting of results td the
Division.
* A third party shall be selected by the Division to compleife
collection and analysis of water quality samples, on a two week
frequency, at BMG's expense.
* Copies of the detailed sampling and analysis protocol shad be
provided to interested local parties in San Luis.
* The Division shall allow the interested local parties to Submit
comments for the Division's consideration until May 13th.
The Board also directed the Division to provide monthly abatement r$quirement
progress reports during the monthly Board meetings. These reports hall
address BMG progress in resolving all abatement requirements.
