The matter in question is the (DMG) file M-1988-112, Battle Mountain Re ources Inc.
(BMRI's) San Luis Project.
Costilla County Planning & Zoning office and the Board of Costilla County Comm' sinners agrees
with the Costilla County Conservancy District that the monthly lab report that B 's submits to
Colorado Division ofMinerals and Geology and then is forwarded to CCCD is vital to the concerns
of the public as is with the elected officials of Costilla County. The Costilla County tanning and
Zoning Office would not mind having these lab reports sent to their office in order the public
would have access to them.
Water Quality is vital to our community, because a large majority of the population ~n Costilla
County are farmers and ranchers. If the Costilla County Panning and Zoning office has the actual
monitoring results of BMRI'S, this would give the public a piece of mind about the ater their using
to imgate their fields. Water quality complications have existed in the past at BM)and to make sure
there are no complications in the future, we in Costilla County Planning and Zonin office and the
Board of Costilla County Commissioners feel that BMRI's monitoring activities sh uld continue.
The Costilla County Board of Commissioners by Colorado Stazute 34-32-103(8) Th director of the
division of minerals and geology shall: (f) Consult with local governments, envtron ental groups and
constituency groups where necessary to promote a sound and balanced approach to inerals
development request that BMRI's monitoring activities be sent to the Costilla Coun y Planning and
Zoning office.
Sincerely,
Nathan J.
