Crick
Reclamation Specialist Mined Land
Rerlamation Division
Re: Permit No: C-84-065 Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine
Permit Revision 2, Adequacy Review Response
Dear Mr. Crick:
In response to your letter of June 11, 1991, regarding the second
adequacy review of the captioned Permit Revision, please note the
following:
A statement correcting the irrigated land situation near the
loadout (Section 5.1.5) is attached hereto.
We apologize for the error regarding the north arrow on the
maps. Corrected maps are attached hereto.
Regarding the discrepancy of the acreage in Exhibit 2.2.1
and the text (3.60 acres and 4.35 acres), please note that
we have three separate leases with Rio Grande. One lease
covers the land on which the coal will be stored and loaded
(3.6 acres), one the small, parcel east of the present pond
and south of the storage/loading parcel for access (0.59
acres) and one for the exclusive trackage rights of the
western track (0.16 acres) which covers the placing of rail
cars. The leasing of the latter two parcels pertain to the
operation of the railcars. No disturbance of the surface
will occur on either parcel. We will request a legal
description from Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad,
which we will submit for your records as soon as we receive
it.
Quarterly field parameters were taken on LO-1 during April, 1991.
The results are being transmitted to your office under separate
cover.
Sincerely,
E.
