LOng <br />Division Direaar <br />The Division renewed a mining and reclamation permit to Bear Coal Co Inc for <br />the Bear Mine on January 22, 1993. To preserve legal continuity of the five <br />year permit terms, the issuance was backdated to July 19, 1992 when the <br />previous Bear Mine permit expired. The operation is an underground coal mine <br />located near the town of Somerset in Gunnison County, Colorado. The coal to <br />be mined is federally owned and the surface to be affected is privately and <br />federally owned.
