COLORADO 80540
(303)8236685
June 7, 1991
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Sir:
RECE~~EQ
JUN 1 4 ~gg~
Mined land
Reclamation Division
On 11/26/90, Mr. Tom Schreiner of the MLRD inspected some reclaimed
land that we wished to release from bond at our facility. A
certain parcel consisting of 39.4 acres was not given a total
release because it only had two growing seasons where three years
is the requirement for total release. It is now the third growing
season, and we would like to request an inspection of this parcel
in order to obtain a complete release from bond.
This area was used as an overburden disposal site. The reclamation
consisted of filling in a deep depression with shale, covering with
1.5 - 2 feet of clay and topsoil, seeding. This area was planted
with a seed mixture consisting of 50% ranger alfalfa, 25% orchard
grass and 25% smooth broam. It is displaying excellent growth and
should be ready for cutting early in the summer.
All reclamation requirements of the permit have been satisfied in
accordance with Rule 6 of the reclamation performance standards.
Because this parcel is in an active ranching mode, an inspection in
early summer would be most appropriate.
Attached is a map of the area to be inspected. Recent photographs
of the reclaimed have already been submitted. I am also including
a copy of the inspection report from the initial inspection.
RMY75 • OD65ti TD(AS .
