However, our files contain incomplete information for this area, as most of Colorado has not yet been inventoried
for cultural resources. As a result, there is the possibility that as yet unidenti5ed cultural resources exist within the
permit area.
It is our opinion that the proposed technical revision will have no effect on cultural resotrces since it will change the
post-mining land use from "Fish and Wildlife Habitat" to "Industrial or Commercial" and will allow the retention of
existing facilities and portions of the mine bench to accommodate the needs of the proposed commercial use for fruit
storage, packing and retail sales but will not disturb any previously undisturbed lands.
If archaeological resources aze discovered during project activities, work must be interrnpted~rmtil the resources have .
been evaluated in terms of the National Reeis[er of Historic Placec eligibility cr,[era (36 CFR 50.4) in consultation wish
our office.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment If we may be of further assistance, please contact Greg Wolff, Section l06
Compliance Coordinator, at (303) 36613674.
Sincerely,
/' ~? ~
Georgianna Contiguglia '
State Historic Preservation Officer
GClGAW ~ ~ -
