Long <br />Division Direcor <br />TO: Chaffee County Commissioners <br />FROM: James Dillie /l'~' vl. . <br />RE: Pridemore Construction, Inc., Jesse Lee, Permit No. M-84-043, Extenston of Temporary Cessatton of <br />Mining Operations <br />Pursuant to the requirement of Rule 1.13 of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />to inform counties and cenain municipalities of the intention of mining operators to put [heir mining operations into a <br />state of temporary cessation of mining, please be advised that Pridemore Construction, Inc., has filed an extension of <br />temporary cessation with the Division of Minerals and Geology for the mining operation captioned above located at <br />Section 33, Township 14S, Range 78W. The period of temporary cessation began on July 15, 1998, and may be <br />extended For five more years. The Notice contains information pertaining [o [he reasons for cessation of the mining <br />opemtion, a plan for resumption thereof, and the measures taken to comply with reclamation and other necessary <br />activities related to the performance standards of Rule 3 of the Rules and Regulations in order to maintain the mine in <br />anun-producing ornon-development stale. <br />The receipt of the extension of temporary cessation will be acknowledged in the monthly activity report attached to the <br />agenda of the next regularly-scheduled Board meeting unless one or more of the following conditions occurs: <br />1. Reclamation performance standard issues are indicated in the Notice of Temporary Cessation. 2. Such issues ace <br />indicated by a field inspection of the site of the mining operation. 3. Such issues are indicated by a review of the mining <br />operation file. 4. Concerns are expressed about the notice by interested persons. <br />If one or more of the above conditions occur, the Division will place the Notice of Temporary Cessation onlhe agenda <br />for the Mined Land Reclamation Board meeting of April 28 - 29, 1999.
