The
Technical Revision permit allows wells 215W, 215L, 218W, 218L, M892S, and M892L to be eliminated from the
monitoring program, which had historically been measuring ground water effects, water levels and soil stability, as
well as baseline water quality data.
Since the completion of mining activities at the Edna Mine 10 yeazs ago, the reclamation of the abandoned mine
has been progressively moving forward. Sealing/filling in these monitoring wells is simply the next step in the
reclamation process that will allow this land to be returned to productive wildlife habitat. This site supports a
vaziety of wildlife species including elk, deer, coyote, small mammals, raptors, waterfowl, and numerous aquatic
species in Trout Creek and Oak Creek.
We anticipate that there will be no impacts to wildlife from sealing these monitoring wells.
Thanks again for the opportunity to comment on the Technical Revision permit. If you have any further questions,
please contact District Wildlife Manager, Danielle Domson at (970) 846-3056.
Sincerely,

Ron D.
