Long <br />Division DirettOr <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 30, 1997, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Chimney Rock Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Kaiser Ventures, Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations <br />ini[iate from this date of filing. <br />Request to eliminate Hydro monitoring and final (topography map of) regrade of reclaimed ponds and ditches. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 22 miles west of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Section 30, T34N, R4W, NMPM. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Chimney Rock. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Archuleta County Courthouse, <br />Box 1507, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments <br />be submi«ed within fifteen (I S) days of this letter.
