The responses are provided in the order in which they were
received in your letter.
1) Over the past several years, the shrub standard has been changed twice to its current
standard of 500 stems per acre. While text of the permit on page 65A had been
changed, the corresponding page 11 in Appendix F was not revised and the diversity
standard was not adjusted to retlect the change of shrub density. As a result, pages
65 and 65A of the permit text and pages 10 and 11 of Appendix F have been revised
and are attached for your review and approval. Slurco is revising the diversity
standard to read "Slurco will establish a reclaimed vegetation community with a
minimum of sin (6) principal species, of which three (3) will be cool season grasses,
two (2) will be shrubs, and one (1) will be a forb. Within the post mining community,
the three principal cool season grasses will contribute 7 to 60 percent of the relative
cover, the principal forb will contribute 1 to 35 percent of the relative cover, and
there will be no cover requirement for the two shrub species."
2) All of the information concerning ponds on pages 116a through 116j was removed
during the renewal process in 1992. Please update your copy of the permit as per the
revised materials submitted and approved under that renewal.
3) The acreage and dates of revegetation areas will be updated in the 1996 Annual
Reclamation Report which will be submitted in January ]997.
4) Revised pages 1 through 3 of the permit document are attached which update the
following ownership and control information:
Exrcmrve Director
Jerry Koblitz M,~,,,,ri u.
