The extension is requested due to adverse
weather conditions affecting the clean up.
Basin received written confirmation of MR 71 approval on
December 7, 1994. Clean up commenced immediately. A majority of
the drilling fluid residue has been removed from the pond. There
may be some remnants of the fluid in low lying areas of the pond
which have standing water. Snow and below zero temperatures which
began December 8th have hindered our efforts to assure complete
clean up in areas of questionable concentration. The extension is
requested in order to allow Basin the time to verify that all
drilling fluid remnants have been removed.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerel
Ralph L ez
Environmental Engineer
RECEIVEQ
Utl; 16 1994
Division of rvi~nerais s Geology
