The report,
specifically Pages 7 and 8 of the drainage study, adequately addresses
the items that we discussed with Mobile Premix and agreed to. However,
the drawings that accompanied the report do not show the items described
in notes 1 through 7 on Pages 7 and 8 of the text. Our greatest
concerns are Item 2, the First Creek rundown into Howe Pit to control
head cutting and Item 6, the spillway connecting the pit back to South
Platte River at the northwest corner of the property. The latter is
needed to protect against headcutting when the water overflows the pit
into the South Platte River. These details are not shown on any of the
three fold-out drawings in the application. Also not shown is the
location of the relocated Bull Seep and First Creek nuisance flow
channel on the reclamation plan map (Exhibit F).
N
0
m
O
O
O
U
w
i
0
w
a
3
0
N
We do have one more area of concern and that is the location of the
First Creek and Bull Seep channel north of the Western Slope gas
pipeline right-of-way. We would prefer to see it further from the South
Platte River starting at a point 1100 feet north of the pipeline. The
entry point into the existing seep located at the northern property line
should be 200 feei~the east of where it is shown on Sheet 1 of 2 of
Exhibit G1.
We recognize that the basic intent of the application is in
accordance with what we have discussed earlier with Mobile Premix. We
do not suggest that the approval process should be slowed down because
of our comments and only ask that the Mined Land Reclamation Board make
our comments a condition of final approval. Should you have any
questions regarding this, please call me or Ben Urbonas.
N
a
w
z
O
S
w
w
ti
