Please refer to Map M-1 and Tables T1A and T1B in the USFS EA Document.
(3) Two drillpads (sic) do not show a proposed access road. For sites 23-08 and 16-08, please
indicate the proposed access route.
MCC will designate the routes on the map after the alignment is selected in the Tield with
USFS personnel. A proposed alignment is shown on map M-1 of the USFS EA Document.
(4) The applicant states that the roads will be maintained with water bars and appropriate
sedimentation controls as required during the drilling phase. The Division recommends that
this be changed to indicate that maintenance will be performed for the life of the road (until
reclamation) as per Rule 4.04.3(6)(a).
MCC will comply with Rule 4.04.3(6)(a), and make note of the indicated change.
(5) The applicant proposes reclamation of the roads. The Division recommends that roads desired
for retention by the US Forest Service be identified and retention requested within the revision
as supporting the post-mining land use, if and where this is appropriate.
MCC will identify the roads desired for retention by the USFS on the post-mining land
use map.
(6) As we have discussed, final approval of the revision will be granted when the US Forest
Service grants right-of--way on the surface.
MCC understands this review comment and will keep the CDMG informed as to the
USFS schedule in striving for concurrent publication of approval from both agencies.
As was discussed in MCC's request for authorization for TR-96, when the Finding of No Significant
Impact (FONSn is received from the USFS, it will be forwazded to the CDMG for incorporation to the
permit document along with the USFS Stipulations of Approval.
If you have questions regazding these responses please call me.
Sincer ,
enry B e
Environmental Engineer
cc: G.
