Colorado <br />~ ~II I~~I~~II~~~~~ ~~~ <br />sss <br />1 ~ ROCKY MOUNTAIN GEOTECHNICAL~ INC. <br />Achieving Harmony with Earth <br />September 14, 1983 RECEIVED <br />SAP 15 1983 <br />Gentlemen: <br />At the request of Dorchester Coal Company, the following report <br />is submitted as certification for construction of the present <br />phase of the Dorchester No. 1 Mine, Coal Processing Waste <br />Disposal Facility. <br />During the construction of the Coal Processing Waste Disposal <br />Facility, periodic inspections were made by Rocky Mountain <br />Geotechnical. These inspections included review of construction <br />methods utilized to construct the coal refuse disposal pile, <br />density tests performed on the placed material to determine the <br />in-situ conditions, and determination of pile slopes and limits <br />of the constructed pile. In addition to these inspections, <br />measurements of pile slope and pile height were made by <br />personnel of Dorchester Coal Company. <br />The following is a summary of the inspections made: <br />5-18-82 Observation of construction methods and <br />density tests. <br />6-20-82 Observations of construction methods. <br />7-15-82 Observations of construction methods. <br />9-05-82 Observations of construction methods. <br />9-27-82 Observations of construction methods <br />including installation of rock drain. <br />12-03-82 Observations of construction methods <br />including extension of rock drain <br />The Railroad Stations 555 E.
