Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 13, 1997, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Meeker Area Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Enron Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations <br />initiate from [his date of filing. <br />The revision addresses the partial reclamation and permanent retention of the lower sediment pond at the Rienau <br />#2 Mine site and ditch installation. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Meeker, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Loadout-25 Miles SE of Craig, Mines-5 Miles NE of Meeker. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rattle Snake Mesa and <br />Ninemile Gap. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Rio Blanco County <br />Courthouse, Box 599, Meeker, CO 51641, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide <br />written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that <br />comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
