Moonscape Pit
File No. M-1997-027
Amendment 1
The purpose of this amendment is to add 0.57 acres of land to the permitted acreage in
the northwest corner of the property. This will allow the operator to daylight the finished
landscape to the draw that runs along the northwest corner of the property instead of
leaving a ridge in that area. This also clarifies that the east permit boundary is the
property line instead of a setback of about 20 feet indicated on the original maps. Mining
on the property is complete with the exception of less than 2 acres in the northwest
corner. The operator anticipates complefion of mining operations in the next yeaz.
Exhibits included with this application that relate to this amendment aze:
Exhibit A -Legal Description
Exhibit E -Mining and Reclamation Maps
Exhibit G -Source of Legal Right-to-Enter, Updated copy of Deed showing ownership.
Exhibit I - Proof of filing with County Clerk and Recorder.
Exhibit J -Proof of Notice to County Commissioners and Soil Conservation District
Exhibit L -Permanent man-made structures within 200 feet with damage waivers.
All other exhibits and information remain as previously submitted with the approved
permit documents. Due to the fact that most of the permit azea has been mined and
graded, we feel the current bond is adequate to cover reclamation of the existing
pernvtted ground plus the area added with this amendment.
