Box 25367 <br />Denver, Colorado 80225 <br />Dear Mr. Kuzar: <br />Subject: Trapper Mme, ID No. OS-02838 <br />Coyote Dam, ID No. I211fi0-09-02838-0I <br />Annual impoundment Report, 30 CFR Section 77.216-4(a) <br />The fogowing is a report for the Coyote Dam, a sediment impoundment owned and operated by Trapper Mtning <br />Iac. The construction of the Coyote Dam has been completed for many years and is designed to comrol surface <br />nmoff from surface mining operations az the Trapper Mme. <br />During this reporting period, no changes were made in the geometry of the impounding structure. All <br />appurtenant structures including the trash rack, decant system and emergrnry spilway are in place, operating as <br />designed and being properly m.~Mained. No insyumemetion is curremly required or planned to be installed, <br />monitored or maintained az this swcture. <br />A land survry of the impoundment area was performed July 9, 1997 by Trapper's survey crew. With the aid of <br />an inflatable raft, the top of sedimrnt was determined to be at EI.6297.0. This corresponds closely to EI. 6298.0 <br />reported in recent years from surveys of the impoundment whm it was dry. The minimum, maximum and <br />present depth and elevation of the impounded water sod sedimem for this reporting period are as follows: <br />Water S_ en <br />Mnirtmm Depth/Elevation - 11/26/97 3.90 ftJE1.6300.9 12 ft./EI.6297.0 <br />Maximum Depth/Elevation - 05/06/97 7.40 ftJEI.6304.4 12 ft./EI. 6297.0 <br />Presem Depth/Elevation - 07/15/97 6.10 ftJEI.6303.0 12 fl./EI. 6297.0 <br />The rerr~ning storage capaaty of the impounding structure, from the aurertt water surface (EI.6303) to the <br />crest of the emergency spillway (EI. 6312), is caladazed to be 74 aao-feet. <br />The approximate volume of the water and sedimem currently impounded are 26 acro-feet and 38 acro-feet, <br />respectively. <br />The depth and volume of impounded sedimrnt, as reported, are based on information supplied by other <br />professionals from previous annual reporu. <br />]f you have arty questions regarding this report, please do cot hesitate to call me <br />Sincerely. <br />n~ <br />Raym d G.
