I
I Battle Mountain Reaourcee, Inc.
l l2 Permit Modification
I of the removal of vegetation and topsoil ahead of the advancing waste rock
fill. No additional special foundation preparation is cgnsidered necessary.
Upon completion of construction, each waste rock lift will be regraded to
I reduce the slope angle between benches. The overall sl~pe angle of 3H:1 V
will be maintained. A 15-ft wide reclamation bench wiQl be maintained on
I each of the horizontal setbacks for access during reclamation.
' The stability analyses conducted for the proposed aste rock facilities
are discussed in Section D.3.5 of this document. De ed information on
construction requirements, such as clearing and strippi g, is presented in
' Appendtz N of the approved permit.
Partial backfilling of the West Pit will be compl~ted as described in
I Section D.3.2.3. Waste rock will be placed using the nine haul trucks and
~IIdozers for spreading. Compaction will be achieved ugh the routing of
~~~(~µal~loaded and empty haul trucks during backfill placeme t. Controlled lift
' f-E-:J !~ ~ thicknesses will be employed to maximize compacted d nsrty and minimize
0 ~ ~ ~ future settlement potential. Establishment of suitable l~ thickness will be
I a,S~~~ based on test fills constructed in the pit during the tart of reclamation
activities. The final backfill surface will slope gently from the north and east
to the low azea of the pit near the creek.
D.3.4.2 Waste Rock Digyosal Area Construction Sleauence
I The mining sequence is the same as that presented in the approved
I permit. Waste rock disposal will occur in the same seq ence except that all
of the waste rock scheduled to be disposed of in Waste Mock Disposal Area
A, and the majority of the waste scheduled to be dispo~ed of in the South
I Waste Rock Disposal Area, will be used to partially backfill the West Pit.
' The proposed quantities and general schedule fort revised waste rock
disposal for the remaining mine life are shown Qn Table D.3.4-1.
Approximately 310,000 ions of waste rock from the D West Pit will be
' disposed of in the South Waste Rock Disposal Area. a remaining waste
rock in the Deep West Pit, approximately 864,000 tons,~will be temporarily
' stockpiled on Waste Rock Disposal Area B.
ay p_It sect o. _
