Prior to re-seeding, any compacted areas will first be scarified. The git area will then be seeded
with [he mixture appearing below:
S ecies
Indian ricegrass
Needleandthread
Blue gramma
Intermediate wheatgrass
Tall fescue
Galleta
Add for Pit Slones
Sage Brush
Four Wing Salt Bush
Reclamation Seed Mixture -Drill Rates
Seeding Rate
Pure Stand Pounds of PLS/Acre
6-8 3.0
8 0.5
2-3 0.5
8 2.0
8 2.0
6 0.5
NIA 0.1
N/A 0.25
If broadcast seeded, the seeding rate will be doubled. The seed will be harrowed in order
to give approximately 0.5-inches of soil cover.
Seeding will occur during late fall or eazly spring (from about October 31 to April 1) in
order to take advantage of available soil moisture conditions during the spring. The
applicant holds sufficient water rights within the Gurley Ditch to provide irrigation to the
pit floors of the gavel operation to enhance the revegetation effort if necessary.'
80/20 Nitrogen/Phosphate fertilizer will be applied at the time of seeding at the rate of 200
ponds per acre and worked into the soil during the seed bed prepazation.
The pit excavation will leave neazly vertical faces of approximately 30-feet in height, if the pit is
mined to planned depth, during advance. These slopes will be reduced to 2.Sh:ly or flatter before
the application of topsoil or cover material. This slope reduction will be accomplished by placing
refuse material along the neazly vertical face of the side walls of the pit, providing acceptable
slopes that will follow the advancing face at not more than 300 feet. If insufficient refuse material
is available, the operator will also excavate the side slopes to a 2.Sh:ly or flatter slope on
advance. The advancing face will be excavated to a 2.Sh:ly or flatter slope as it neazs the
disturbance line. The operator will take Gaze not to encroach on the disturbance line during slope
reduction. In Phase II, a berm will be developed along the southern and western exposure of the
pit during mining, this berm will remain in place and will be covered with topsoil or cover
material at final reclamation.
Phase I will expose a maximum advancing face of 740 feet, Phase II will expose a maximum
advancing face of 725 feet and Phase III will expose a maximum advancing face of 1010 feet.
Phase I will expose a pit floor area of 8.5 acres, Phase II will a expose a pit floor area of 8.0 acres
and Phase III will expose a pit floor area of 28.9 acres.
'These recorded rights can be found in Exhibit N -Legal Right to Enter and they aze
restated in Exhibit G -Water Information.
E-2
