<br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116,
<br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 8, 2002, an application to revise coal mining operations
<br />at the Munger Canyon Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by
<br />Lodestar Energy, Inc. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from
<br />this date of Fling.
<br />This revision would allow for construction of a small (4.9 acre) coal mine waste disposal azea, to handle waste
<br />material from the operator's McClane Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1980-004) located adjacent to the Munger
<br />Canyon Permit area. The proposal includes plans for diversion ditches, a sediment pond, and re-located road
<br />segment.
<br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 18 miles north of Loma, Colorado. The
<br />permit azea is further described as follows:
<br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, and 34, T7S, R102 W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County.
<br />-Portions of Sections 2 and 3, T8S, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. The proposed distwbance associated
<br />with this revision is located within the SW 1/4 Sec. 28, T7S, R102W, 6~' P.M. (see enclosed location maps).
<br />The revision disturbance area is shown on USGS 7.5 minute Howazd Canyon Quadrangle map.
<br />If yow agency has concerns with, or objections to this proposal, please submit written comments within fifteen
<br />(I S) days of this letter to DMG at the letterhead address.
<br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete.
<br />At the time of publication of this rrotice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at
<br />the Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CQ and at the Division office. For additional
