c Preventive Maintenance -The SWMP shall identify a preventive maintenance program This <br />program shall involve maintenance of stormwater management devices (maintenance of dikes <br />separating mine drainage from stormwater, cleaning oiUwater separators, catch basins,.etc.) as <br />well as maintenance ojequipment and systems to prevent conditions tkat could cause breakdowns <br />or failures resulting in discharges of pollutants to surface waters <br />d Good Housekeeping -The SWMP shall identify good housekeeping procedures that will be <br />followed by the mining operation. Good housekeeping requires the.maintenance of a clean, <br />orderly facility. This part ajthe SWMPshould address cleaning and maintenance schedules, trash <br />disposal and collection practices, grounds maintenance, etG <br />e Spill Prevention and Response Procedures -Areas where potential spills can occur, and their <br />accompanying drainage points, steal/ be identified clearly in the SWMP. Where appropriate, <br />specifying materia/handling procedures and storage requirements in the plan shoald be <br />considered Procedures for cleaning up spills shall be identified in the plan and made available to <br />the appropriate personnel. The necessary equipment to implement wclean-up shoald be available <br />to personnel <br />j. Employee Education -The SWMP shall describe employee education programs to inform <br />personnel at allleve/s of responsibility of the components andgoals oftheSWMP. Education <br />should address topics sueh as spill response, good housekeeping and material management <br />practices The SWMP shall identify periodir dates for sueh instruction. <br />g. Identifrcarion ojDischarges other than Stormwater - The stormwater conveyance system on the <br />site steal/ be evaluated for the presence of discharges other than stormwater. The SWMP shall <br />include a description of the results of any evaluation for the presence of discharges other than <br />stormwater, the method used, the date of any evaluations and the on-site drainage points that were <br />direc7ly observed during the evaluation. <br />A number ojdischarges other than stormwater may not require a CDPS Wastewater Discharge <br />permit and are considered Allowable Non-stormwater Discharges These are listed at Part LD.3, <br />be%w. Any of these discharges that eadst at the site must be identified in the SR'MP. <br />~ Comprehensive Inspection <br />The SWMP shall identify qualified personnel that sha/!inspect designated equipment and mine <br />areas at appropriate intervals specified in the plan, at leas! twice a year (lx the spring andjall). <br />The operator shall keep a record ojsuch inspections This record shall be made available to the <br />Division upon request and summarized in the Annual Report {see Part I.EI ojthe permit). <br />(The following two paragraphs are from Part I.D. S of the permit) <br />a.
