Dear Ken:
In accordance with Section 36 of the E1 Paso County Land Development Code,
we are submitting this Letter of Intent for a Variance of Use Permit for
moving a portable wash plant in the Vollmer Pit to remove unwanted materials
from our native aggregates.
O With the advent of more technically improved and stricter asphalt mix designs,
we are finding it increasingly difficult to remain within specification because
of unwanted native materials intermingled with our aggregate resources.
In order to continue to provide high quality and competitive asphalt and
aggregate products, we need to wash these native materials free of deleterious
materials. Then we shall accumulate the reject materials in sediment ponds
and use them as fill prior to topsoiling and reclamation.
We have included with this packet of materials a map showing the locations
and dimensions of existing and proposed structures, including roadways.
