<br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues nofice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3,
<br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on June 3, 2005, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining
<br />operations at the Seneca II-W Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as
<br />provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing.
<br />Seneca Coal Company proposes to continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located approximately 9
<br />miles south of Hayden, Colorado. The permit azea is further described as follows:
<br />TSN, R88 W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35
<br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24
<br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Hayden Gulch, Hayden, Dunckley,
<br />Mt. Hams.
<br />This pemtit renewal application would allow far renewal of Permit C-1982-057 for a new five yeaz permit term, which would
<br />extend to December 31, 2010. The application does no[ propose any expansion of approved permit boundaries or surface
<br />disturbance acreage, nor does it propose any changes to approved mining or reclamation plans.
<br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Hayden Public Library, 201 E. Jefferson Avenue,
<br />Hayden CO 81639, and at the Division office. For additional information, to provide written comments, or request an informal
