Simpson
Slate Engineer
After reviewing the file in your office for the referenced technical revision, the following
comments and observations are provided for your consideration.
1) Apparently the proposed revision entails eliminating some bedrock groundwater quality
monitoring.
2) It's unclear, from the data I reviewed, whether the wells involved will be plugged and
abandoned or converted to beneficial use.
3) If no wells will be removed from the monitoring program, but merely a change in parameters
monitored, then this office has no objections to the technical revisions proposed.
4) If wells are to be plugged and abandoned, then the requirements of Rule 15 of the Water Well
Construction Rules (2 CCR 402-2) pertain and must be accomplished in compliance.
5) If the wells are slated for conversion to beneficial uses, then applications to use ground water
must be submitted to this office.
The above comments should cover the proposed technical revision which was unclear per se
as to disposition of the involved wells.
Sincerely
~G'/,~GC~~I' ~rei~O
Chuck Roberts
Professional Engineer III
CGR/jmg
6490L.cgr
