If not permitted, please add this area into the permit. From observing the map for this exhibit, it appears the north side of the proposed pit will be situated plain. Is this interpretation correct? Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan The Division applauds the operator for proposing to install undulating shorelines, shallow areas, and man-made islands. All of these activities will be very beneficial for the wildlife. The text specifies reclamation will not commence until after all mining activities have ceased. Why is it not possible contemporaneous mining and reclamation? What depth of topsoil will be spread onto the slopes? If less than ,amount salvaged, please specify why the descrepancy. Please specify the seed mixture to be utilized. The Division believes the mixture should not only consist of grass species but also contain at least one forb species, preferably a legume species. Such a seed mixture would provide a diverse planting while the legume species would provide nitrogen to the soil. The operator should commit to ripping all compacted areas to assist 'n obtaining successful reclamation. Will any mulches or fertilizers be utilized? If so, please specify t.ype(s) and rate(s). Exhibit G - Water Information During our inspection of this site, a number of irrigation ditches trot transverse the proposed amendment area were observed. Please specify the names and ownership of these various irrigation ditches. Also, please specify how these irrigation ditches will be protected from injury (included in this discussion should be a definitive timetable specifying when an irrigation ditch will be relocated prior to mining activities).
