This pipeline is owned by the Greeley Cas Company
and its presence was addressed during review of the previous permit and a
letter dated May 27, 1987 was submitted to the Division from the Greeley
Gas Company. The pipeline will influence the mining plan as described
below.
rl~D2.nY Plan
It is planned that furt:~er mining operations will create two pits.
The existing pit will be expended in both westerly and easterly directions
on 1:he south side of the gas pipeline. Another pit will be created on the
north side of the pipeline a~ illustrated on the Hxhibit C map. (Note:
the pipeline may be relocated outside the disturbed area at some future
point. If so, a single pit will be created.)
Ground water is encountered at a depth of about 10 feet below the
grotiad surface. The site will be wet mined to approximately 35 feet or so
in <iepth using a small dragline. Frontend loaders and/or dozers will be
used as necessary to assist in the operation.
The aggregate to be mined consists of channel and terrace deposits
the+;. range from about 50 to 150 feet in thickness. The alluvium lies
unconformably over the Dakota sandstone.
It is anticipated that the Bite will be mined less than one hundred
eighty (180) days per year.
~Q:essina
The aggregate will then be appropriately sized and washed as
nec~assary. Material will be sized using portable crushing and screening
equipment. A portable wash pleat is used when concrete aggregate is
TfITLll P Di7
