Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 19, 2007, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Bear Mine was considered complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the <br />Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Beaz Coal Company, Inc. proposes to continue undergound coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land <br />located approximately 0 miles East of Somerset, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 8, 9, and 15; all of Section 16; portions of Sections 17, 18, 20, and 21 Township 13 South, <br />Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Somerset. <br />Bear Coal Company, Inc proposes to continue reclamation operations on land located near the town of Somerset, <br />Colorado. The Bear No. 3 mine is an underground coal mine that is in permanent cessation. The permit renewal is <br />for another five yeaz term. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Gunnison County Clerk and Recorder, <br />200 E. Virginia, Gunnison, CO 81230, and at the Division office.
