Cattany <br />Division DlreC[Or <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January ]9, 2007, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Bear Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. <br />All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules <br />initiate from this date of filing. <br />Bear Coal Company, Inc. proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land <br />located approximately 0 miles East of Somerset, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections S, 9, and 15; all of Section 16; portions of Sections 17, 18, 20, and 21 Township 13 South, <br />Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Somerset. <br />Bear Coal Company, Inc proposes to continue reclamation operations on land located near the town of Somerset, <br />Colorado. The Bear No. 3 mine is an underground coal mine that is in permanent cessation. The permit renewal is <br />for another five year teen. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Gunnison County Commissioners, 200 <br />E Virginia, Gunnison, CO 81230.
