I knew but I never thought of <br />telling him about it because I didn't think he was going <br />to go down that far right there where the rails was, <br />that cement was there. Vernon Cason's done that. Them <br />days we had to get away from all the hard work that we <br />could because everything was hand work. There was a big <br />rock there and the fan house right there and he seen me <br />on top of that rock and I torn down the cement house <br />because I moved the fan to the other side. I tore the <br />walls on that fan house and I left -- I didn't know that <br />rock was there but I just knew there was -- seemed to go <br />down to the coal vein to make that second air shaft. <br />That's what it was, but I never knew that big rock was <br />there. But that is where the fan house was set before. <br />q I see, and did he and you talk about all that <br />before he started digging or was that ever discussed? <br />A well, they never come to my mind. I thought it was .iust a rock there <br />because it couldn't move it by hand; Vernon Cason <br />couldn't move it by hand so he went over the rock and <br />put the house on top of that fan.
