<br /> <br /> i' <br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision to Approve Bond <br />Release Application No. 2 (SLr2) for the Eastside Mine, Permit No. C-1984-063. The mine is operated <br />by Eastside Coal Company, Inc. under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation <br />Act of 1979. The bond release application was submitted by Eastside Coal Company, Inc. on Mazch 22, <br />2001. The Eastside Coal Company, Inc. has requested a bond release (SL-02, for $18,570) for successful <br />establishment of vegetation which supports the approved postmining land use, and which meets the <br />approved success standard for vegetative cover, of Permit C-84-063 (a Phase II Bond Release). This <br />Phase II Bond Release is for release of liability on 4 acres of reclaimed mined lands. Reclamation was <br />accomplished in 1995. Phase T Bond Release (SL-O1, for $44,568} for this area (backfilling and grading) <br />was approved by the Division of Minerals and Geology on December 13, 1995. The affected area is <br />located in Garfield County, approximately 4 miles north of Silt, Colorado. <br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for review at the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the office of the <br />Garfield County Clerk and Recorder. <br />Any person who has an interest which is or may be adversely affected may request an adjudicatory <br />hearing regarding this proposed decision. Requests for a heazing must be made in writing within thirty <br />(30} days of the first publication of this notice, and shall state with reasonable specificity the reasons for <br />the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />°~-3~ <br />
