As shown in Figure 6, RDA Final Configuration, an access road has
been cronstructed along the west side of the sedimentation pond. The refuse
area will be serviced by access roads constructed on the front slope of
benches as they are constructed.
The refuse disposal area will be constructed as shown by the
conceptual plan and cross sections illustrated in Figure 7, Conceptual Fill
Configuration, Figure 8, Generalized Cross Sections, and Figure 9, Benched
Keyway Cut. Outslopes will be 2H:1V, benches will drain to rip-rapped side
ditches along the contact between the refuse and undisturbed areas.
Benches and roads will be sloped so that drainage will be routed to tce
areas before draining laterally to the rip-rapped side ditches. Figure 10
shows the final drainage configuration of the pile. All runoff within the
basin whether disturbed or undisturbed will enter pond 009 via side
crollection ditches. Pond 008 has been sized to accrniodate this runoff.
Although this is an ephemeral drianage with no springs or seeps, an
underdrain made up to durable rock will be maintained along the existing
® drainage for the length of the fill. Temporary diversion ditches will be
installed above the rock underdrain to divert runoff away fran drains and
**
minimize clogging. A benched keyway cut will be constructed as shown on
Figure 9, Benched Keyway Cut, in the toe area to stabilize the tce and
allow for subdrainage.
The refuse disposal area final configuration is shown on Figure 6,
RDA Final Configuration and Figure 11, Cross Section A-A' Final
Configuration. The overall average slope is about 3.4Hc1V as a result of
bec.~hes and haul roads crossing the outslope of the fill. A slope
:ts`~ility analysis was ccx~leted based on assumed fill parapeters. hfien ^
representative refuse material is available for testing, additional
stability analysis will be conducted and designs modified if appropriate.
Construction of the initial refuse disposal area has involved
disturbance of approximately 7 acres to acmnodate the sediment pond,
access road, refuse belt and storage capacity Eor the first 2 to 3 years of
** See Page 2.05-33 (a) 2.05-33
I~vised 5/23/91
