Tree and shrub clumps can be seen on Maps F-1 and F-2. The clumps are spaced about
100 to 200 feet apart along the shores of the expansion lakes. Area 1 has approximately
37 clumps. Area 2 has approximately 33 clumps. Area 3 has approximately 42 clumps.
2.) A sketch of the existing slopes and future slopes near the wash plant has been included.
Reclamation has been completed along the western edge of the pit. Slopes have been
filled along the river and eastern border. Additionally fill has been imported along the
remaining northern border. This fill still requires dozing to place it into final position.
The slopes around the office trailer will require backfilling as well as the remaining
slopes within the final mining area near the wash plant. The final mining area slopes will
be established by dozing the slopes down for a cut and fill balance. The required fill for
the other remaining 2630 ft of slopes will be 58,400 CYD. This will be supplied from
two stockpiles. The smaller stockpile lies between the final mining area of the Chambers
pit and the river. This stockpile contains 16,500 CYD of topsoil. The primary stockpile
lies on the Casey Concrete Permit. A letter signed by Casey Concrete and United is
included to verify ownership. This stockpile contains 51,000 CYD of silty
topsoil/overburden. From this, it can be seen that sufficient fill material for reclamation
is available on site. Additionally, the site will continue to accept imported fill material.
Any extra fill material will be used to further lessen the backfilled slopes. All above
calculations are based off the CAD model..
3.) A letter stating the ownership of the fill material located on Casey Concrete's permit is
